Badly decomposed body located in Loxahatchee

first_imgThe Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating after a decomposed body was found  in Loxahatchee on Friday.According to the report, the body was located around 12:30 pm in by workers in area of E. Swift Current Broncos pick Nelson’s Curt Doyle in Bantam Draft

first_imgNelson’s Curt Doyle spent the past season tending goal for the Kamloops Jardine Blazers.The move appears to have paid instant dividends as the Heritage City product caught the eye of the Western Hockey League’s Swift Current Broncos, who drafted the 15-year-old goalie in the ninth round (188th overall) in last week’s Bantam Draft.“This is a real exciting time,” Doyle said from his parent’s home in Nelson. “I’m really excited . . . this is just a real good feeling but I’m also pretty surprised to be honest.”Like many other 15-year-old hockey products, Doyle was watching the draft play out when his name came up during the Broncos ninth round selection.About an hour later the chief scout for Swift Current called Doyle to welcome him to the WHL club via telephone. Doyle began playing the sport in Nelson Minor Hockey at the age of five, moving into the goal full time during his second year of Atom.He played two seasons each with the Peewee and Bantam Rep teams before moving this past year to Kamloops to play with the Jardine Blazers.The 5’11”, 155-pound, Doyle finished the season with a 24-4 record and six shutouts.The Jardine Blazers won the Okanagan League with a 12-0-1 record.Doyle plans to move back to Nelson to compete for a spot on the Kootenay Ice Major Midget Hockey Club this coming season with an eye on the Broncos in the future.”The BC Major Midget Hockey League is a very good program for developing players,” Doyle said.But first the Heritage City product is expecting a package from the WHL club to arrive soon that will hopefully include an invitation to rookie camp.“I’ve always had an interest in college and Tier I hockey, but I’m leaning toward the WHL which has always been a goal of mine to make it there,” Doyle said.last_img read more

Be it the smartphones in our pockets, the vehicles we drive, or the computers we depend on daily — digital is here and here to stay. Along with that are some exciting new forms of media.We here at Ohio Ag Net recently started a podcast ourselves talking the latest issues in agriculture, featuring those from all corners of the industry.Podcasts really are great ways to deliver information to more people across the internet, in addition to the more traditional form of broadcast communication. However, we realize not everyone is familiar with the world of podcasts. This blog will look to give a quick introduction on how to best utilize them.What is a podcast?A podcast is a piece of digital audio that’s distributed across the internet, available for downloading to a computer or mobile device. They can range in topic and length depending on the creator.Where can I find a podcast and how do I tune in?The foremost resource for listening to podcast is iTunes from Apple. In fact, the name ‘podcast’ comes from the fact that the media type was coined by Apple for its extremely popular iPods in the early 2000s.There are multiple ways to listen to various podcasts, but we recommend venturing to iTunes and their podcasting app. From there, search for Ohio Ag Net and find our podcast channel. Hitting the subscribe option will make sure you follow the podcast for each update in the future. A download feature is also available so they can be easily listened to when the phone or computer is not connected to the internet. With podcasts being on-demand forms of media, this means old episodes are always up for listening. If you’re late to the podcast scene, no worries — you can jump in from episode one or just start listening to the latest addition.For those without iPhones or Apple products on hand, popular smartphone apps for listening include Pocket Casts, Stitcher Radio, or Google Play Music. In addition to these apps, the Ohio Ag Net Podcast can easily be listened to on our website as well, posted every Wednesday evening.When do I listen?Easy answer — any time! The format of podcasting allows the team to take a more relaxed approach to telling the story of agriculture, looking at the latest happenings across ag and the world in general. It’s a more informal look at the industry, and gives an in-depth look at a number of issues we cover throughout the year. The length usually varies from half an hour to an entire 60 minutes, depending on the topics covered each week. Lead Generation for a Thought Leadership Authority – Blogs, Books, Speaking, Podcasts and eBooks

first_img Originally published Oct 19, 2007 12:11:00 PM, updated March 21 2013 Blogging I recently watched a presentation from Brian Carroll, author of Lead Generation for the Complex Sale and author of a blog called the B2B Lead Generation Blog. His presentation was quite interesting and he had these 5 suggestions for tactics to use for lead generation for a company that is trying to build thought leadership or become an authority.1) Blog.  Brian has been blogging for a year and thinks it is one of the most effective ways to get his ideas out there.  He posts 1 to 3 times per week spending an average of 2 hours per week in his blog.  I agree that this is a great technique to get your message out into the market – that’s why we at HubSpot started this blog!2) Speak.  Speaking opportunities are often overlooked as a marketing tactic, especially speaking at smaller events.  Brian likes the personal connection and says that he gets a lot more leads from in person events than web-based events.  Brian likes to speak 2 to 4 times per month.  the great news is that while preparing for one speaking opportunity can take a lot of time, if you can re-use the same presentation, you can get a lot of leverage out of your time.3) Book. Writing a book is a lot of work, and does very little to generate leads now.  But, a book is a great way to show people that you are a thought leader.  Seth Godin says that “a book is a souvenir of the ideas.”  So, don’t think about the book as a way to promote your ideas, but it is a great way to validate them and make them credible.  Finally, some interesting facts: according to some book researchers, 90% of nonfiction books sell less than 5000 copies, and it takes at least 5000 copies to make a thought leadership impact in the market.  Brian sees the book as a useful sales tool because it provides a lot of credibility and is a great leave behind for your salespeople.4) Podcast.  Brian does a Podcast once a month.  He does not think it is a great lead generation tool, he only has a couple hundred subscribers.  But, it is great for branding, because his data shows that when people do listen to podcasts, they really pay attention to them and tend to do it while driving or working out, and focus a fair amount on the content.5) eBook.  Brian defines an eBook as a “hipper version of whitepapers” (David Meerman Scott agrees).  eBooks are similar to whitepapers, but are typically more graphical and usually do not require registration.Does your company do any thought leadership?  Do you want to serve as an authority in your market?  What techniques do you use for marketing and lead generation below?  Leave a comment below.
